Tell Your Story
People's State of the Union: Story Circles - Tempe
At the beginning of the event, we’ll gather as one group for introductions and a short performance by poet James Stein. Then we’ll split into four story circles, each with a facilitator and a scribe (or an audio recording device). Everyone in your circle will take turns sharing a story. Craft your story with a beginning, middle, and end, about something you have experienced or observed. (No need to memorize or bring notes, you can improvise.)
The People’s State of the Union is a nationwide creative action conceived and coordinated by the U.S. Department of Art and Culture (not a government agency). #PSOTU2016; www.usdac.us/psotu/ In the Tempe event, you will be invited to share a 3-minute story and listen to others share their stories about the state of the union as we all see it. Please arrive a few minutes before 7:00 p.m. to sign in.
